September

WEEK 1
Old Testament:Micah 6:8

Think of this verse with Christ in it: Christ has told us what is good, Christ tell us what is required, Christ showed us justice, loving kindness and Christ walked humble with the Father.


New Testament Jude 1:21-23 (3rd of 3 weeks)

To hate even the garment means to hate even the most remote contact with sin. Are you developing a Love For God and a Hatred for Sin?

Week 2
Old Testament Nahum 1:3

The prophet grounds his description of the majesty and might of God upon the revelation at the Exodus and at Sinai. (see Exodus 19:16-18; Psalm 18; Psalm 97.) Think on how this should affect your heart, motives and work.


New Testament Revelation 1:7

Have your thoughts dwell on this verse and the picture of what will happen here.  Think: “If every eye will see, what will every heart do, think or feel?” What will your heart do, think or feel? What is it were to happen today?

WEEK 3 
Old Testament Haggai 1:4-5
When this verse says “consider your ways” it says to set your heart to dwell on the  question: Has your selfish ways gained you anything in what God has called you to sacrifice?

WEEK 4


Old Testament: Zechariah 8:3

Dwell on the truth that God purposed that an unfaithful city, like Jerusalem, he established their reputation to be faithful. He forgives, redeems and renews. He does that with His people today. Think about how he does that today in your life, believer in Christ.

WEEK 1
Old Testament Edition: Joel 2:12-13
The assurance that repentance is good, is found in the character of God himself. Don’t be afraid. Go ahead, repent! It is a lifestyle!


New Testament Edition: 2 John 1:5,6
Dwell on this: Our walk of obedience doesn’t bring God’s love. Our walk of obedience reflects God’s love.


WEEK 2
Old Testament Edition: Amos 5:15
How do Christians cultivate a hate of evil?


New Testament Edition: 3 John 1:11
To imitate means to take or follow as a model.  What do you imitate: good or evil?



WEEK 3
Old Testament Edition: Obadiah 1:10
Sow and reaping are a part of this declaration. Homework: What was the violence done against Jacob, that was mentioned here?


New Testament Edition: Jude 1:21-23 ( 1st of 3 weeks)

To keep yourself in the love with God, you need to remember the mercy that brings eternal life and what is at stake. In other words: preach the gospel to yourself.

WEEK4
Old Testament Edition: Jonah 2:9
Salvation belongs to the Lord! Dwell on this truth! Form it in to a prayer of reliance and worship. Journal the prayer


New Testament Edition: Jude 1:21-23 ( 2nd of 3 weeks)
Do you know people who doubt? Maybe it’s you. Show mercy! Don’t be so hard on them… or yourself.

WEEK 1
Old Testament Edition: Lamentations 1:5
The Lord brought affliction the people of Israel and Judah, because of their stiff neck ways. He did it so they’d repent. Are your troubles possibly, revealing God’s call to you to repent?

New Testament Edition: 1 Peter 1:1-5 ( 3nd of 3 weeks)
Think through about what it means that God is guarding your salvation. List two comforts this truth provides.


WEEK 2
Old Testament Edition: Ezekiel 39:28
In the Big Plan of God, the Lord will gather all of his people together and not one will be left behind in the nations. Isn’t that a great echo to God’s promise for the Church today!

New Testament Edition: 2 Peter  3:17-18 (1st of 2 weeks)
Think about ways people are carried away by teaching errors. List why it produces and unstable walk in Christ.

WEEK 3
Old Testament Edition: Daniel 2:20
Consider God’s wisdom and might. Do you rely daily on them?  Or are you too busy finding your own wisdom and might? Lean heavy on Jesus and worship with this phrase this week.
New Testament Edition: 2 Peter  3:17-18 (2nd of 2 weeks)
Christians often grow in their knowledge of Christ, but how can they grow in the grace of Christ as encouraged through this verse.


WEEK 4
Old Testament Edition: Hosea 3:1
Remember, God loved us even when we loved other idols. Even today, our hearts may stray to love something else at times, but God’s love is still reaching out, providing grace, guarding His beloved.

New Testament Edition: 1 John 1:6, 7
Note in this verse we are memorizing this week that the result of walking in the light is fellowship with one another. How is your fellowship in the church? Does it ned to change?

WEEK 1
Old Testament Edition: Ecclesiastes 2:11
There is no reward for those who live for only this world! Think about what your hands are working hard to do and why they do them.

New Testament Edition: Hebrews 4:14
We are saved by Christ’s work, hold to our confessions and quit trying to save or redeem your life through what you do. You cannot add to Jesus completed work. In what ways have you doing that?


WEEK 2
Old Testament Edition: Song of Solomon 8:7
 “Love of Christ, will enable us to repel and triumph over temptations from the smiles of the world, as well as from its frowns.” Matthew Henry
New Testament Edition: James 2:17
“True believing is not an act of the understanding only, but a work of the whole heart.” Matthew Henry




WEEK 3
Old Testament Edition: Isaiah 7:14
God with us… in the good, in the bad, in the blessings, in the suffering. Jesus understands because he also walked with us.

New Testament Edition: 1 Peter 1:1-5 ( 1st of 3 weeks)
Think through what it means that there are those who are elect according to God’s foreknowledge. What does that mean?


WEEK 4
Old Testament Edition: Jeremiah 23:5
Think about this: Jesus will deal wisely in his reign. We sometimes lose that thought among what else is said in this verse.


New Testament Edition:  1 Peter 1:1-5 ( 2nd of 3 weeks)
Think through about what it means the God caused us to be born again. What does this verse say is the motivating factor?

Old Testament Edition: Esther 4:14
God’ sovereign hand had put Esther in the right place at the right time. Meditate on God’s placement of you for here and now.



New Testament Edition: 2 Timothy 2:3
The life as a minister of the Gospel is not one of ease. But it is life of a soldier who exposes himself to dangers and at times un known suffering for the cause of the kingdom’s work

WEEK 2
Old Testament Edition: Job 42:2
No purpose of God can be thwarted!!! What a great thought. What does that mean for your trust in God’s work in your life?



New Testament Edition: Titus 3:8
The fuller context of this verse is important to know. Meditate on how God’s good grace to us, produces good works in us.


WEEK 3 
Old Testament Edition: Psalm 19:14
Pray this verse this week for you’re your inner heart  and your every word.

WEEK 1
Old Testament Edition: 1 Chronicles 29:10
Dwelling on this verse reminds us that to bless the Lord means to ascribe glory, thanks and praise to him because of His rich blessed state and the ultimate source of blessings.


New Testament Edition: Colossians 2:9-10
Because we are in Christ we have been brought to fullness. Think about what that means according to Scripture.

WEEK 2
Old Testament Edition: 2 Chronicles 16:9
This week dwell on this verse and what it says God is doing. Think of why he does it and what He may see.


New Testament Edition: 1 Thessalonians  4:1
This verse encourages us to walk more and more in the exercise of grace daily. In every duty! What area needs you to be a grace giver this week. Think and act.


WEEK 3 
Old Testament Edition: Ezra 7:10
What do you set your heart on to grow in? For everything you know in God’s word, how much do you apply?  What is the ratio?

New Testament Edition: 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
Count the way’s God’s power has helped in times of need.


WEEK  4
Old Testament Edition: Nehemiah 8:8
Do you read and dwell on God’s word in order to make sense? Ask the Holy Spirit to make rougher passages to be cleare and study it diligently

New Testament Edition: 1 Timothy 3:14-15
Dwell on how one ought to behave in the household of God. Not the building but with God’s people.

WEEK 1
Old Testament Edition: Ruth 1:16
Ruth expresses her deep and determined loyalty and love to Naomi. Especially in forsaking the Moabite gods and embracing Jehovah God alone.

New Testament Edition: 2 Corinthians 4:5
It is good to dwell on this boasting! It keeps us humble and focuses us on the right thing.


WEEK 2
Old Testament Edition: 1 Samuel 13:14
Consider the seriousness of Saul’s sin and the proceeding judgment of God. Remember and rejoice in the saving power of Christ.

New Testament Edition: Galatians 2:16
To be justified means God says your standing with him is just as if you never sinned and just as if you always obeyed- because of Jesus


WEEK 3 
Old Testament Edition: 2 Samuel 7:12
The promise to David about his offspring is another prophecy of the coming King- Jesus Christ. The establishment of Jesus kingdom, is a hope held promise for believers today.

New Testament Edition: Ephesians 4:1-3 (2 Weeks)
See the “therefore” at the beginning of the verse?  What is it referring to? Consider the calling of the Christian here. What is the calling mentioned previous to this verse?



WEEK  4
Old Testament Edition:  1 Kings 9:3
“Men cannot make a place holy, yet what we, in sincerity, devote to God, we may hope he will graciously accept as his”  Matthew Henry

New Testament Edition: Ephesians 4:1-3 (Second week of two)
What does it mean to be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bonds of peace? Are you eager to have that? Do you pursue that in your everyday living?


WEEK  5
Old Testament Edition:  2 Kings 17:22
In the Old Testament narrative, here explains the reason for Israel’s exile. God, with his disciplining hand of judgment, desired their repentance. Have you departed from your life’s sin today?

New Testament Edition Philippians 1:21
This biblical perspective carries a lot of hope about both life and death. Consider the results of living in this truth for your life
